Barsocchini AIA graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Southern California, and is registered as an Architect in California. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects, and SCARAB, the National Architectural Honor Fraternity. While
attending architectural school, he worked and studied with Lloyd Wright, Architect. Mr. Wright's concept of organic architecture became the inspiration for Mr. Barsocchini's own design philosophy. Mr. Barsocchini has worked on many projects in the fields of urban design, architecture and planning, which have encompassed designs for all types of multi-family housing, commercial structures, urban designs for neighborhoods, community designs, and master plans for cities.
margin50.gif (817 bytes)Prior to starting his own practice in 1969, Mr. Barsocchini was with the urban design architectural firm of Gruen & Associates. During this period he was involved in numerous urban design plans. The urban design plan of a sixty block area in the southern sector of downtown Minneapolis, as well as urban design plans for retail office complexes in Wisconsin, Utah and Hawaii. In the field of planned community design, he has master planned a 350 acre sub center for Employers Insurance
Company of Wausau, located two miles east of Wausau, Wisconsin. He was also involved in design studies for Calabasas Park, a planned residential community located in the San Fernando Valley. Prior to working for Gruen & Associates, Mr. Barsocchini Worked for Rockrise & Watson, architects/planners, in the City of San Francisco.
margin50.gif (817 bytes)After starting his own firm in 1969, he prepared the urban design plan for the El Pueblo de Los Angeles State Historic Park, Olvera Street, which was given the  state award of merit by the American Institute of Planners, Southern California and California Chapters in 1971. mb4.jpg (8520 bytes)
margin50.gif (817 bytes)Additional planning projects include preparation of the General Plan for the City of Rancho Mirage, California, located adjacent to the City of Palm Springs. This plan includes the most advanced guidelines for growth management, implementation of design controls and preservation of open space.
